    Which quality should I choose?

    70–80% is usually visually indistinguishable and several times smaller than the original.

    Why did a PNG not shrink?

    PNG is lossless, so quality does not apply. Reduce the longest side or choose WebP or JPEG.

    Is metadata removed?

    Yes. Re-encoding drops EXIF data such as GPS, and the image is rotated correctly first.
