    Questions and answers

    Is my image uploaded anywhere?

    No. Everything is decoded in your browser, so photos of documents or tickets stay on your device.

    Why does the camera not start?

    Browsers allow the camera only on HTTPS pages and after you grant permission. If it is blocked, drop or paste an image instead.

    Can it read barcodes?

    Where your browser supports the BarcodeDetector API, common barcodes such as EAN and Code 128 are read too. Everywhere else the scanner reads QR codes.

    Is it safe to open a scanned link?

    Check the site name shown above the button first. Be careful with addresses that imitate banks or services, and never enter passwords after an unexpected scan.
