Secret notes
Send a note or password that deletes itself after reading.
This tool is temporarily unavailable.
The note is encrypted in your browser before it is sent. The key stays in the link after the # sign and never reaches our server, so we cannot read your notes.
How it works
- 1
Write the note
Type a password, a key or a message and choose when it should disappear.
- 2
Send the link
The note is encrypted in your browser and you get a link that contains the key.
- 3
It disappears
After it is read once, or when time runs out, the note is deleted from the server.
Questions and answers
Can you read my notes?
No. The note is encrypted in your browser with AES-256. The key is in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to servers.
What if someone else opens the link first?
A one-time note can be read by whoever opens it first, so send the link over a channel you trust and add a password for sensitive notes.
Do link previews in messengers burn the note?
No. A preview only loads this page; the note is requested only when you press “Show the note”.
How long are notes kept?
One hour, one day or seven days, as you choose, and one-time notes are deleted on first reading. Expired notes are removed automatically.
Is there a size limit?
Up to 20,000 characters per note and 10 notes per hour from one visitor.
